Europe was never high on my travel priority list as a young adult. I regarded it as a bit too oldie-worldy; full of broken statues and other remnants of by-gone empires and ages past. "Like a wax museum with a pulse" is the expression I believe... But as I got older and talked more to people who had visited Europe it seemed to have a lot more to offer than I had first thought and in 1990, I moved to the UK ostensibly to work/travel around Europe. In the years that followed, I travelled the length of the UK with the boys and girls of both the Sealed Knot and the Bandanna club. A few of our more interesting UK trips are in the Climbing and Walking events section of this site. These include trips to Scotland, Wales and Cornwall. I've managed to see a smallish chunk of western Europe, including Holland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Portugal as well as a few interesting places in the Med such as Malta, Madeira and Ibiza etc. But there's still a load more of it that I'd like to visit. Anyway, check out the links in the left border under 'Europe & the Med' for a few of my favourites... |
